Volunteer
To help, or for more information, please contact Natalia Soteroff using the information on our Contact Us page.
If you’re wondering what our volunteers do, or how you could help, here is a sample of the jobs that need doing on a weekly basis:
- Receive food deliveries and donations
- Sort and ensure the safe handling and storage of food
- Restock client service area shelves and fridges with food from warehouse
- Divide bulk quantities of food into smaller serving packages
- Preparation of food packages in the pre-pack room
- Serving clients at the client service counter
- Assist with housekeeping jobs
- Pick up and deliver food which has been purchased or donated
- Participate in local food drives
- And many more …
As you can see, there are many different ways you can help by volunteering … and it all makes a difference.
Volunteers are the life blood of our organization—we simply could not operate without our volunteers. Our communities need you.
As a volunteer, your time is as valuable as any donations we receive. If you have a few hours a week to spare, we are always looking for a helping hand.
We are proud of the work we do here at the Smiths Falls Community Food Bank. It is important and rewarding work, and we can’t wait to have you join our family of volunteers.
